On Thursday night at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond Indiana, Bellator Fighting Championships will be hosting the weigh ins for Friday nights Bellator 60. The weigh-ins will be at 4:30 p.m. CT on Thursday with fighters on scale at 5:00 p.m. inside the Horseshoe Casino Venue lobby. If you are a local MMA fan then you need to come out and show your support for the local talent that has been working hard in and around the Chicago area. Here are some reasons to get out to the weigh-ins tomorrow and get your tickets if you haven’t picked them up already.
First you need to recognize some guys who have been killin’ it in the amateur fight leagues and finally get their shot at going pro. There is Jake Nauracy who has all but dominated in the CutthroatMMA.com events held in Indiana and Chicago. He will be taking on an equally tough Curran’s stand out Cory Galloway. It’s not often you get to see two local promotion stand outs going head to head, so this fight is definitely one to watch.
Two fighters from Indiana who have both competed in the Chicago area Eric Oria and Team Colon’s Lance Surma also make their Bellator debuts on Friday night. Oria will definitely have his hands full with Surma, who put in his time at many local amateur events; Cutthroat, XFO, and Fight Card Entertainment to name a few.
Bobby “The Believer” Reardanz will be taking on Kenny Foster of New York. Reardanz is from Bourbanais Illinois and has recently put in wins at Chicago Cage Fighting Championships-4 and Northeast MMA- Cage Fight.
Sean “Big Sexy” McCorkle, out of Indianapolis, has been busy racking up six wins since July of last year. His most recent visit to Illinois was at Chicago Cage Fighting Championships-4. He will be taking on Richard White of Daytona Beach Florida.
Anthony Gomez from Torres Martial Arts will be taking on a very seasoned veteran Travis Wiuff. Gomez was a stand out at Total Fight Challenge in the light heavy division.
Shamar Bailey and Josh Shockley are both out of Indiana. This fight will be interesting because of who these fighters are. Bailey is most notable from the Ultimate Fighter Season 13, and will be looking to prove that he has what it takes to be in the big show. With a record of 13-5 he will be looking to put away Shockley, who has an impressive 8-1 record.
A local fighter from Crystal Lake Illinois Pat Curran will be the main event as he takes on “the Baddest Man on the Planet” Joe Warren. Curran, who has been amazing on his run in Bellator (6-1 BFC), will be taking on the 145lb Featherweight Champ who has been tearing up the division.
As you can see, there is more than enough reason for you to get out to this event. If you can’t make it out at the event, here is where you can catch the action:
- Prelims begin live on spike.com at 6:00 p.m. CT
- Main card will be aired on MTV2, Epix2 (HD), and spike.com at 7:00 p.m. CT
- More live fights after the main card on spike.com at 9:00 p.m. CT
